This was a really nice surprise. Who would have thought something like this would work? And then actually pull it off. The Bryan Ferry Orchestra is a jazz band set up by British musician Colin Good who worked closely with Bryan Ferry to come up with probably the most intriguing and surprisingly good records of the year. ‘The Jazz Age’ is a collection of dixieland covers of Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music’s work and it is just brilliant: beautifully performed and wonderfully recorded. If you are a fan of Ferry, this is a real treat.
