Big K.R.I.T. ‘Multi Til the Sun Die’

Rapper Big K.R.I.T. just can’t stop giving away his music. Since 2010 he’s dropped three excellent mixtapes for free download and even though he finally released his official major label debut ‘Live From The Underground’ early last year, with the release of ‘King Remembered In Time’ this month it shows his new fame (shout outs from the likes of Lebron James) hasn’t stopped him giving music away to his fans. K.R.I.T.’s bluesy, southern drawl may not have had the crossover success he may have hoped for but throughout his career he’s stayed true to his roots and it’s paying off – on this newest record his production skills and lyricism have somehow jumped up a notch. This is the best hip-hop project of the year so far.

K.R.I.T.’s  mixtapes have always ended on an emotional note (‘Voices’, ‘The Vent’ and ‘The Alarm’), and it’s just the same here. ‘Multi Til the Sun Die’ uses an M83 sample to heart stirring effect as he acknowledges his record label since the beginning Multi-Alumni and thanks anyone who was there for him over the years.
