Lorde ‘Tennis Court’

If you haven’t heard of the New Zealand teen sensation Lorde yet, then you better get with the picture, as by the end of summer she is going to be a superstar. The 16-year-old’s second EP ‘The Tennis Courts’ is out via Virgin Records on July 22nd and she’s just dropped single ‘Tennis Court’ and its B-side; a dreamy and mellow cover of the Replacements ‘Swingin’ Party’ – which was recently covered by British electronic artist Kindness.

Lead single ‘Tennis Court’ is held together along by warm 80s synths, a solid beat and an irresistible pop hook chorus on which Lorde sings with an attitude and swagger way beyond her years (“Dontcha think that it’s boring how people talk?”) – watch this young one. Yeah!
